Normally on these kinds of trips you end up in a very low budget place with no AC, no hot water and bugs in your bed.
But not this trip!! Hahahaha! Anne said- God is so good to you Steph, He knows what you like!!
Yep- I have a rep for being a little bit on the princess side when it comes to accommodations. And ya know what? I'm ok w/ that!
Kru Pen is the only Christian teacher at her school and she faces a LOT of persecution! :(
Ink is her daughter who is not a Christian.
Kru Noi is also a teacher and the owner of this house that we'll be renting for 2 weeks while we teach at their school. She is an extremely strong Buddhist and even has an entire room in her house (her 2 bedroom house) dedicated to idols & worshiping Buddha.
Short video of me walking around the school so you can see the kids
So please be praying for us while we teach at this school. We'd love to be a light in this place and be able to share what we believe as well as help encourage Kru Pen.
She has taken kids to church before and she is facing a lot of persecution for that. The parents are upset and told her to stop talking about her beliefs. They said, "you are causing division among the community". And she has been threatened to lose her job if she continues to share about Jesus. So please be praying for her and that we can help encourage her!
Acts 4:13-22
New International Version (NIV)
13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. 14 But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say. 15 So they ordered them to withdraw from the Sanhedrin and then conferred together. 16 “What are we going to do with these men?” they asked. “Everyone living in Jerusalem knows they have performed a notable sign, and we cannot deny it. 17 But to stop this thing from spreading any further among the people, we must warn them to speak no longer to anyone in this name.”
18 Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! 20 As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
21 After further threats they let them go. They could not decide how to punish them, because all the people were praising God for what had happened. 22 For the man who was miraculously healed was over forty years old.
