Prayers for India

Jen and I have 2 great friends serving over in India right now. Last night, they sent out a prayer request and I'd like to post it, so that we can all be praying for this:

Good morning all...well, evening for you It seems that lately so many attacks and obstacles have been coming our way. I have no doubt in my mind that it in direct correlation to the expansion that has been happening in this ministry. With that being said, we have a HUGE prayer request!!!Right behind our compount- less than 100 yards- there is government housing...basically apartments for about 2000 poor families. In the last few days the families living there have been coming together to petition local leaders to allow them to build a temple to one of the Hindu gods. Which god, I'm not exactly sure, but I do know that it would involve blood sacrifices...from what I have been told by the other missionaries here, it is one of the most opressing and demonic gods in the Hindu religion. There is a 10 week festival dedicated to this god, which happens every sunday during those 10 weeks; during those weeks small children and animal often go missing. One can only imagine the torture they go through. Being that this is a children's hostel it would obviously not be a good situation for them to be allowed to build this temple...not to mention the amount of demonic activity that would be happening right outside of our gate and brought in daily by the day students. Few things to be praying for: 1. Steps are being taken to stop this being built; officially it's government land and due to certain law it is unlawful to build this temple so close to a church (which takes place here on Sundays), but being as this is a Hindu nation it happens quite frequently. Pray that the process would be stopped because once a temple is built it is almost impossible for it to be torn down. 2. Wisdom with us to have the words to say. We have to be careful in what we say regarding this matter. If we are asked we can not give any response or advice to the kids, especially in front of the Hindu day scholars. Being that we are American it would be used against us and we could get kicked out of the country for pushing our beliefs on other people and speaking against Hinduism. Not a good situation. Just pray for wisdom to say that right words when they are needed. This is absolutely urgent, so I ask you to forward it on to anyone you know who is missions minded and has a heart to pray. BUT PLEASE BE CAREFUL- DO NOT PASS IT ON TO ANYBODY WHO LIVES IN INDIA OR HAS DIRECT CONNECTIONS TO PEOPLE IN INDIA!!! If it can be traced back to me saying anything against Hinduism or asking people to pray against this temple, this implicaitions would not be good. While this isn't a completely closed nation, it is very sensitive. Please be praying and I will send an update as soon as I can.
