Update in India

Here is a report from a girl living in Mumbai India. God is SO faithful!!

Hello, I wanted to take a minute and update you on all that has been going on in the city.

Yesterday I visited the area attacked by terrorists. Walked down the lanes of Colaba, viewed the Taj Hotel, went to Leopold’s Restaurant, drove around CST Station, Cama hospital and Metro cinema. It was only as I was in that place walking down the lanes, seeing the damage, and talking with people that we have known for years who were affected by these attacks that it really began to hit me. The very thought that 15 demon possessed men could come in a wreak havoc in a place that is very near and dear to my heart is almost overwhelming, and yet in the midst of it the mercy of God is so evident.
On the day of the terror strikes my parents and little brother were in the strike zone and felt an overwhelming urge to leave just 1 hour before it all began. The further away we get from all of this the more information comes out. The attacks were originally supposed to start at 7:30pm, but were delayed…that would have put Mom and Dad there in the midst of it all.
There were 5 separate bombs that were supposed to go off, only one did. They shot at a petrol pump that had enough petrol to blow up everything in a 500-meter radius, and they missed…twice.
Thing after thing which reminds me of the mercy of God, and that even in the midst of such tragedy and horror that He is still on His throne, and He is still protecting this city! As we were walking through the area yesterday we were some of the only foreigners. And yet over and over again people have asked us not to leave India. To not let terrorists and fear run us out.

It is neat because in the midst of such uncertain circumstances there is an open door to share with people, to encourage them and to pray for them. Mumbai is such a resilient city, and these people are brave and determined not to allow fear to stop them from living, because when they allow fear to stop them than the terrorists win. Thank you for all of your prayers and your notes of encouragement. Please continue to life this city up. We are at a critical time, where decisions are being made as to how to respond. Please pray for peace in this city!
