Victory Park Dallas
Jen and I went down to Victory Park for New Year's Eve to meet some friends. We were there almost an hour before our friends were. I had to use the bathroom and did NOT want to use a porta-potty. So I decided to run into an apartment complex to see if they had public restrooms. The guard told me they didn't and told me I had to leave.
Well, I had my camera around my neck, and there was this young guy down stairs in the lobby. He said, "Hey, I have a bathroom up in my apartment you can use . . . Do you want to come upstairs and take some pictures?". I looked and him and said, "uh . . . no. Pictures of what?!" I was thinking to myself- pervert! Then he realized how that sounded and said- "no! I'm having a party upstairs with my friends. If you would go take pictures of my party for me, you can use my bathroom."
Whew!! I was glad he clarified! So I asked if Jen could come and told him we could only stay for about 5 minutes. So we headed up, got to use a really clean bathroom and took some pictures of some really nice people having their New Year's Eve party! These apartments were downtown, so they were NICE- more like lofts. It was SO warm in there (and SO cold outside). We were tempted to stay! But we had to go meet our friends . . .
Standing in the freezing wind, an hour and half later, it was 2009. They had bands that we could see, but not really hear. Then at the end they had a fireworks show.
We were PACKED in Jen's car!
Freezing!
