This was a good weekend!
Saturday Jen and I got to hang out w/ our most favorite Laura in the world! And she brought us cookies!!! Then, that night we went to Raise the Mark at our church- Raise the Mark is a time when the body comes together, once a month, to pray for specific things, worship together, and take communion. Jen and I prayed about also being able to share about Thailand as they open it up for people to ask for prayer requests. At the very end we got to go up and Todd (the pastor) shared a little of what we are doing and then asked Jen and I to pray. Jen was great, of course! She is such a natural public speaker! Me on the other hand . . . well at least I managed to get some words out, but that was just about it! Where they coherent? I'm not sure . . .
Then Jen and I got to hang out w/ Cheryl Boyd- she is a Watermark member who has been serving in Russia for the last few years. She had some really awesome advice for us! It actually shook me up a little- it made we realize how much I DON'T know about what I'm getting myself into- as far as moving to another country. I think I am going to be in for more of a shock than I can even imagine! But she had incredible advice for us and getting to talk w/ her was such a great opportunity!
Then we met up w/ Jen's small group at PF Chang's for a bit. That was fun as Always! Those girls are awesome! They have totally adopted me into their group (after a very stressful initiation process!)
Sunday Jen and I met w/ Jeff Ward- he's in charge of missions at Watermark. This was a really great meeting! He has such a heart for missions and for connecting missionaries to the body. So hopefully we can still stay connected to Watermark and still have a church "home" there. I love that church so much and it makes me so sad to have to leave it!
Church was a whole 'nother blog!! =)
Afterwards, we decided to get some Thai food for lunch. Jen has been craving it and I think after 2 years of not having it, my body is finally ready for it again. (yeah- I'm not kidding).
So we went to this place called Best Thai. And was it!! We were the only ones there for the first 20 mins or so, so we got to have GREAT conversations with our waitress. Her name was "Nope" and she is from Thailand. Though she hasn't been there in over 10 years. She was so cute and told us some really funny stories. She told us what we should order when we are there and warned us of a few things. She was so stinkin' cute! We are going to try and go back there a few more times before we leave. So if anyone is in the mood for some good Thai food- we know a great place!
Then back home where I started packing up life again. I also tried to spend a lot of time with the pups today. I kept getting misty eyed spending time with them- I just love them SO much!!!
Well I hope you had a good weekend too!
