WE ARE HERE!

Here is a picture of my web browser in Thai at the top! When I first signed in it had Thai instead of English! :) (click on the picture to make it bigger so you can see)

Jen and I at the Amazon Cafe today using the internet

Day 4 and we are LOVING IT!!
I know that we have SO much to update!! But we still have limited internet access. Please PRAY for the Thai company to come hook up our internet. Chris and Terra (the couple we are living with who run Pure Heart) ordered it months ago! But just haven't gotten it yet.
I'll post pictures from our trip here (all the long plane rides and the crazy food we ate) and then each day since we've been here. I have a LOT of pictures and videos to share!

But just to summarize, we are getting settled in as quickly as possible. We are loving it here, though learning to adjust to the many differences. We take 2-3 showers a day b/c it's SO hot and you get SO nasty and dirty (typical Thai way is to shower often!). We are so busy trying to catch up with everything that is going on with Pure Heart and learning about it all. It makes it hard to get away and find time to get on the internet (since we have to go somewhere at this point to get on it). Keeping you all updated is a HUGE priority, so I assure you I will do it as often as I can.

Jen and I are trying to learn things as quickly as possible. But the culture here is SO different! For example- if someone is sitting/laying on the floor, you cant step over them, you have to go around them. And also, appointments here mean "maybe I'll be there". So a Doctor could be booked w/ appointments all day, but actually not be very busy w/ patients because they dont all come. It's crazy! Well, just different ;). Another difference is you cant touch someones head- it's disrespectful. You cant wear shoes in the house, you leave them at the door (didnt know that when we first arrived and went into the house w/ my shoes on- a few people freaked ;) ). Typically Thai dont have kitchens in their homes. The only thing they'll have is some sort of stove outside (b/c it gets too smokey to have something inside). Thankfully the house that Anne built (what we're living in) has a "full" kitchen! Meaning, they have a stove, cabnits and a sink.

Oh man, I could go on and on!! But I want to get some pictures up and stories for you. Please bare with us as we get to the internet as much as possible.

Just know that without you faithful ones out there ( you know who you are) we wouldnt be able to be here!!

"La Gone" (good-bye in Thai)
