With tears in my eyes, I must tell you what just happened to me.
Steph and I are in a coffee shop on the internet and I had to go to the bathroom. Steph had already been and told me it was just around the coffee shop in a little shack outside and to make sure I brought tissue with me. So I was off to the bathroom.
Well everything went according to plan until I tried to leave my stall. No can do! The door handle on the inside was broken. I thought to myself….this really can’t be happening. I tried everything. I pushed, pulled, jiggled, etc and nothing I did was making it open. I could get the corners of the door up top open but could not get the latch to open. I thought well maybe I can crawl over the wall to the next stall. So I stood on the toilet seat, having to be very careful because it was very flimsy, and then stepped on the lid to the toilet tank. I tried to hoist myself up over the wall but it was too high and I could not get myself up there. I tried to swing my leg around but I could just barely get my foot up there. Then the lid of the tank started to move and I was about to fall. So I thought that was not the best idea. I got down and was laughing at this situation, thinking really God, what is this about. I am sure He was having a good laugh in heaven also. It was soooo hot and I was profusely sweating. I thought well at least Stephanie knows where I am and will eventually come get me. I continued to laugh, pray, and work on the door to try and get it open.
Eventually I heard Steph calling my name and I yelled back at her. She came into the bathroom and she tried on the other side to get me out. Well she had to bust through the door using her hip. And when the door opened a burst of air flowed through and felt so good. We had a good laugh! She told me how she had been sitting there working on her computer and thought…wow, she has been gone a long time. So she left all of our bags/computers in the shop and went outside and kept calling my name, until eventually she was right by the bathroom and I heard her.
I am thankful she came to rescue me otherwise I would have eventually died of a heat stroke. I had to come in and wipe all the sweat off of me that was dripping off my face. What an experience to remember!
