Some updates

So we have been here almost 2 whole weeks now!! It actually feels like we've been here a LOT longer!!

We started our Thai language class on Wednesday. It was a total God thing that we got in the class! We just happened to call the day before the first class and there were 3 seats left- we had to go Right then to pay because they couldn't hold the seats for us. So we go 5 times a week from 10-12:15. The class is in the city, so it's about a 30 minute motorbike ride. We have decided to drive in early and go sit at a coffee shop (the one that the church runs- Filling Cups Cafe) to study for an hour or so. We will also grab breakfast there some mornings since it's cheaper to eat out. You get eggs, a bagel & cut up fruit for a little over a dollar! Their fruit shakes are $0.71 USD!!

Last night we had our first lizard-in-the-house experience! They are so common here, that people dont bother trying to get them out. And they eat bugs, so people keep them around. But Jen and I live in a pretty small place, so a lizard was a Big deal to me!! It was a 15 minute ordeal of screaming and running, but we finally caught him and got him outside. I'm sure he was more scared than us! but you wouldn't have known it!!

We are getting pretty used to driving on the motorbike. Though driving in the city is A LOT different than driving around here where we live. We live right off of a big main road, so you have lots of room to drive. But in the city, the streets get Really small and traffic is usually heavy all the time. So it's a bit more stressful. And there are a lot of stoplights, so it's a lot of stop and go- which really is fine except for when it's on a hill and your bike starts rolling backwards!
But we bought some helmets and they are SO big!! We look like aliens! But we feel safe, so that's what matters!

Friday nights we (us and the 2 married American couples that are here also) try to do something special for dinner. It's usually pizza! So tonight we're having some pizza from a place called Ridgleys. It's a nice place with Western food. We had burgers the other night!! It's pretty exciting!

Our room is slowly turning into a nice little living area. We are still trying to get a few finishing touches . . . then I'll take pictures and post them.

I think our pizza is here so I better run!
