Faith increase (by Jen)

Don't you love those days when you hear God speak to you so clearly and it’s exactly what you needed to hear? This morning was one of those days for me.

The last couple of days I have been frustrated because things are not moving as fast as I would like it to go. I have heard things move slowly here because of the culture but for some reason I still think I should be able to make things move faster. Crazy, I know! I want to make sure my time in Thailand is productive and that I am making a difference. My intentions are good, but misguided.

This morning in spending time with the Lord, I realized that frustration and discouragement are not from the Lord and it was causing me to take my eyes more and more off of Him and putting them on myself and on my feelings.

BUT this morning, God spoke to me and reminded me that He is always at work, even when I cannot see it, but I must have more faith in Him. In Hebrews 11:1 it says, “faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” and Hebrews 11:6 says, “it is impossible to please God without faith”. So I was reminded from Beth Moore’s Believing God Bible study the 5 statements to say everyday to help remind us to have faith:

1. God is who He says He is
2. God can do what He says He can do
3. I am who God says I am
4. I can do all things through Christ
5. God’s Word is alive and active in me
I’m believing God!

And God used this statement to encourage me from a devotional: “Where God’s glory is gaining a foothold, Satan will not sit idle. Die to self. Dependence=power=God’s glory. Be desperate and dependent. Walk by faith and embrace the unknown and watch the deliverance of God. God is in control.”

God challenged me this morning to believe Him instead of just believing in Him.

So today I chose to die to my self and depend on Him alone. AMAZING how God so quickly answers! TODAY, God has opened up some new avenues for ministry and I feel so alive inside!
Truly God knocks my socks off constantly and I can’t wait to see what He will continue to do. May I continually die to my self every day and choose to operate in God’s power.

I’M BELIEVING GOD!
