We were close to Pattaya, which is in the southern part of Thailand. A first for both of us to see the beaches of Thailand!
We drove down in a van w/ a huge group of people from our church. We drove overnight 9 hours so we could get there a day early to enjoy some fun stuff!
Here are just a few pictures from the trip. I have a link to more photos below.
Funny looking little pig snacks
These were some awesome ladies we met at a nearby coffee shop. We got to share a little with them about why we were in town and what we believe in. The lady on the right Really loved Steph and her hair. She would call me "Darling" everytime I came in and made the foam on my cappuccino match my hair mo-hawk :)
Jen played defense for the Shareball team and she ROCKED!! We were the black team and the poor orange team didn't have a chance! The next day when they were announcing the winners, they said- the black team had some TALL players! The poor orange team just faded into the background! (she was also the only white person on the team- so she Really stuck out!)
Me and Jeab! We have so much fun together even though neither of us speak the other ones language very well!
Anne had to translate from English to Thai and she said that is MUCH harder for her than Thai to English. She was really nervous, but did great. Thankfully, when I went up front to take pics of her, she dropped her paper just as I had gotten there, so I was able to get it for her. The look of panic on her face was funny b/c it had ALL her notes on it!
Worship was amazing. We had worship twice a day and usually for about 1 1/2 hours. These Thais can rock it out for Jesus!
So we went to a few different places on our free day. Here Jen is showing you some Huge dried squid for purchase. I cant even begin to count how many squids were eaten by our Thai friends on this trip. And that doesn't include Squid Eggs!!! Ewwwww!!!
We went to this place called Mini Siam, that had lots of miniature famous monuments you could take your picture with
We did get about 2 hours at the beach. We could have stayed ALL day- it was so amazing!! But we were happy to get the 2 hours. We played some volleyball, did some swimming and rode the banana boat ride! It was only $2 a person!!!
We really had an amazing time and we are so glad we were able to go. It was a very monumental event for the church as this was the beginning of a lot of healing from some things in the past. It was also the very first HIM Conference since some splits took place. It was great to be part of it!
