What, you may ask, am I learning right now? Discipline! Straight up DISCIPLINE!! And not being content with being mediocre in what I can or can’t do. Learning to Push myself past what I’m used to doing. Learning that it is OK to go beyond what you’ve ever gone to before. Experiencing that challenges are actually Good for you and aren’t just for suckers! (Hey, we all learn eventually).
I’ve always prided myself (there it is again- Pride) on being a very content person. And contentment is good- it says in the Bible that we should be content in all situations. But there is a fine line between contentment and complacency. Or dare I even say- laziness?! Wow- I thought I would Never change my ways of lazy living! I know that those of you who know me pretty well are amazed, bewildered, confused even- at the fact that I not only signed up to do this, but that I actually AM doing it!! Trust me when I say, I’m right there with you!!
Every morning that I get up, it’s nothing short of a testimony of how Good my God is! And how when He calls you to do something, then He WILL give you the means to do it. Be it strength, money, time, resources . . . our God will provide all of your needs:
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us
Ephesians 3:20
for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.
Philippians 2:13
And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19
