The dogs are doing pretty good. Better than I anticipated. We got some “rescue remedy” spray that is suppose to help calm them. Josie wont lay down, but what’s new.
We’re listening to Norah Jones. She’s so calming!
We got out at 9am. Our goal was 8am.
But we all know how that goes! We’ve been driving for about an hour now. We’re going all the way to Birmingham tonight. The wonderful Kristi booked us a hotel where they accept dogs! It’s a little over half way to SC, so we’re hoping tomorrow will be a nice easy drive- get the long one out of the way first.
Last night we cleaned and cleaned and cleaned! We had a lot of help! Really, there is NO way we could have gotten out this morning if we didn’t have all the help we did!
We gave Jen’s bed to her sister, so we got to sleep on the floor last night. That was anything but fun! Actually though, it helped my back to feel better! But we didn’t get much sleep.
Here is where we slept
I got a nasty blood blister on my thumb from some needle nose pliers. I’ve never had one before- they Hurt!
Going into Louisiana
Going into Mississippi
Going into Alabama
In driving, Jen and I realized that we have made this drive 3 times together!
1. Driving her here in a huge UHaul, towing her green Chevy Cavalier, to live in Lindale TX and work for TeenMania
2. Driving me in my Dodge Grand Caravan, full of my life in the back, on my way to live in Dallas and work at TeenMania
3. And now, driving a small Budget truck, taking both of us to Myrtle Beach again before we depart for Thailand, where we’ll live for the next 2 years!
Jen took the first shift
This is us crossing the Mississippi River
Josie chillin' - Jack was in Jen's lap
And 11 hours later- we're in our long awaited hotel room! Thank you Kristi for the generous and Much needed gift!
After our 7am free breakfast, we'll be headed back out on the road, Myrtle Beach bound! Please continue to pray for safe travels!
