Dinner out

This is a cute little shop we've found that has tea, fruit shakes and even Oreo shakes! It's right across the street from Carrefour- the Thai Wal-Mart.








So, we went to have dinner at a cheap little place right next to the shop pictured above. I was given a cup of ice and water. When I looked down into my cup, I saw that there was a big dead ant floating right on top. Thinking to myself this isnt very sanitary, I showed it to my waitress/shop owner.

Of course I assumed she would quickly take the dirty glass, disappear into the back and then return with a new glass of ice and water. But then reality set in and I was reminded that I was in Thailand and I was eating at a cheap shop.


The waitress/shop owner DID take my glass. Looked inside and saw the issue I had. She then walked no more than 3 steps to this street you see pictured below, poured out JUST enough ice and water to release my dead little friend, and then promptly brought back the SAME glass, SAME ice and SAME water to me.
Gee, thanks.
