I love cheap!

So I'm going through our budget right now. Being a new month, I'm starting the budget over again.
Jen and I write down everything we spend and then I put it into a spreadsheet. It's a great way for us to keep track of how we are doing and also to keep us accountable to what we spend our money on.
So as you know, we have now moved into the city. We weren't totally sure how much more the bills would be different here, but we had total peace about moving. Well, after one month, I am so happy to say that we are UNDER budget for the month! :) We actually try really hard to stay under budget every month, but I was curious how this month would turn out.
What a blessing!!

Another thing that I love about cheap living in Thailand is . . .
You know how if you go to a festival or some special event, they jack the prices WAY up on normal stuff? Like hotdogs are $4 and water bottles are $3? A normal soda that would cost you $1 is $4 at an event?
Well they just dont do that here!
As Jen and I went out to enjoy Loi Kratong today, it was SUPER hot out and we needed to buy some waters. Normally, a bottle of water will cost you around 10 baht, or $0.30. But I instantly thought in my head, "oh man, how much are these bottles going to cost us?! I bet they'll be at least 25 baht each!". It was so hot and I was getting dizzy, so we had to buy some water. As we fought the crowds to get to the food stands, we lifted up a cold iced water bottle and asked "tao rai ka?" "How much?" She replies- Sip Baht. 10 Baht!!
I was so relieved and remembered that Thailand isnt like America. They dont gouge you on prices just because you are at a special event. Things here are same-same but different :)

Just a few pictures from the festival

They light them and then let them go and some people attached fireworks to them

They are SO pretty!

I really couldnt get a good picture of them in the sky, but they were SOOOO beautiful up there!
