The van we rode in
Our guest house is right in front of this little lake. It's so pretty!
Jen and I were up at 7am and out the door for our run at 7:20. Today we ran 4 miles up and down the mountiany hills of Mae Hong Son. We were tired, but it felt good!
Then some bagels for breakfast and an iced 25 baht coffee for me, shower and bucket wash our clothes since we had to pack light- which means re-wearing outfits.
We were suppose to go get our Visa stuff done at 10am this morning, but got a call that there was a problem, so we'll be going in the afternoon instead.
Having the morning to spend time in God's Word was a great unexpected blessing and Jen and I both had some really great time with Him.
Then, in the afternoon, we spent 2 hours in the slowest working Government Official's office ever! Seriously, this guy was crazy! He kept looking at the same papers like 10 times and made us re-sign stuff and re-fillout stuff. Then he tried to tell us that we couldn't do our paperwork in Mae Hong Son, but had to do it in Chiang Mai. Ummm . . . we just came here from Chiang Mai b/c they told us we had to do it in Mae Hong Son. So glad Dee was there to work it all out! She is the Thai girl that works with us and handles all this paperwork!
All those papers on his desk were for us!
Dinner was french toast dripping in butter. Then scrambled eggs dripping in butter.
Then we decided to get a treat called Rotee
and it's basically a fried piece of dough dripping in butter AND they then pour sweetened condensed milk and sugar over it!! what?! All that goodness for just 5 Baht- about $0.15.
(see that Huge blue container of butter??)
We are back in our AC'd room now working on our computers for the night. That about concludes Day 1 in MHS.
