Fix-er-up'er

It’s starting to be rainy season. Well, it started over a month ago and will last another 2 months. But it’s getting more and more of course.

So last night I was Skype’ing w/ Jen and I started to hear water drops. I looked up and there were 3 places in the ceiling dripping water on the floor!
Except, I was on the 3rd floor and we still have a 4th floor!

So I went up to the 4th floor and in the bedroom (where the light is out of course so I had to use a flashlight) & there was water on the floor in these random puddles. But nothing on the ceiling in there. The water was coming from UNDER the floor! I am so baffled!

Then this morning I went into the bathroom on the 4th floor and part of the ceiling is on the floor.

Thankfully, today I happen to have a guy coming over to fix the toilet that has been broken for 2 1/2 weeks. And he fixes other stuff. So I gave him quite a list:

-fix toilet on 3rd floor

-hole in bathroom 4th floor

-leaking in floor on 4th floor

-add a light in the kitchen

-new piping for kitchen sink

-clean out "hole" in floor that the kitchen piping drains into

-fix burned out light in 4th floor bedroom (my reason for water searching darkness last night)

That aw'ta keep him busy for awhile :)

In America, this would cost, I'm guessing, a few hundred dollars. But here in Thailand, with parts AND labor, it's only going to cost somewhere around $40 - $50! Totally worth getting this stuff fixed!

Actually, when I asked how much I should pay the guy for his work, my Thai friend said- "it's up to you. Whatever you feel like is worth it." What?! This country is so funny!!!
