Encouraging story

We just went to visit the Handicap village yesterday where we did a jewelry project last year. And from our relationships we were able to build there through the jewelry, we got to share about Christ and they have now started a weekly care group!

They open up their home & come together (about 10 of them) and one of our pastors goes out there to teach and lead worship every week.
So we joined him yesterday to take pictures and spend time with them.

One of the ladies, P Ngan, shared her story with us:
Before the jewelry project, she was in debt and didn’t have very steady work. Her son has downs-syndrome and so she is always afraid to work out in the fields where he is left home alone. So in doing the jewelry, she was able to work at home and stay with her son (Tommy). She was also able to get out of debt in making a steady income.

Now, when we just went to visit yesterday, she has moved to a new location. Using the money she made through jewelry, she decided to join up with 2 other families and build a fish farm!

That way they can have a sustainable living year round! So they are building a new home and have already started raising and selling fish & frogs also.

She became a Christian when we invited her to come to church on Mother’s Day last year and since then she continues to see God in her life and how He is taking care of her and Tommy.

Tommy LOVES to pray and P Ngan is always amazed at how God answers Tommy’s “child-like” faith-filled prayers! They have been praying for Tommy’s dad’s salvation also and he has started to come to care group as well!

We continue to be amazed at how God can use something so simple as a piece of jewelry to totally change someones life!!
