did you know i almost got stampeded by Water buffalo today?

they are so peaceful and sweet looking . . . i want one SO bad!!

so on our 7 hour drive home today . . . there was a man on the side of the road having car trouble

and whenever we are on this 7 hour drive, Chris NEVER stops for me to take pictures and i always see wild life i want to take pics of
and 10 mins before we saw this man, there were 4 water buffalo on the side of the mountain in their little mud pool just chillin AND there was a baby one too! but did we stop?? no

so anyhow, this man just happened to be pulled over right beside like 12 waterbuffalo! they were just chillin and chewin' their cud. so as chris was helping the guy, i was like- oh i'm getting out and getting some pictures!



so i'm slowly walking towards them, making little waterbuffalo sounds, or some sort of soothing sound, they are just staring at me chewing their cud. i'm taking pics as i go . . . slowing inching closer and closer

and i have said MANY times that i want to ride one and i want to find someone that will let me ride one

so as i'm inching closer to these sweet water buffalo, Chris decides to come barreling down the side of the mountain where i am and in his loud manly voice say, "want to ride one?! they are really calm!"

and then they start to get a little nervous . . . some of the smaller ones start moving towards the back of the group and the bigger ones start coming forward. i dont notice this yet, because i'm still clicking away at my camera and only focused on one or 2 close up



then as i'm taking pics, i notice they start to move around more and i "sense" some weird feeling. i look up from the camera and notice that they are slowly walking towards me, and they are breathing REALLY heavy!



so i turn around and see that everyone else is way up at the top of the hill again, not down w/ me . . .

so i SLOOOOOOWLY start backing up, not turning my back to them and i just start walking backwards . . . really really slow .. . .

and they are still breathing really heavy and definitely look pissed

i almost step in a pile of crap the size of TX as i'm backing up
i get pretty much to the top and then turn front ways and run back to the truck
jen and Chris are up there laughing and jen said, i was about to grab the video camera!!! ha, ha, ha . . .

all i could see was their HUGE horns and think about what it would feel like to die by being gouged and trampled on!

so, that was my little experience today. i guess they are more aggressive when there are more of them . . . b/c i've gotten close to just one before, not that close though i guess
