New do, new dough

Well, if you've been reading our blog, you know I've been going through the painful process of growing my hair out. (Mentioned here and here.)

Well I finally let it grow out enough to get the cut I've been wanting for years. 7 actually.
It's still not quite as long in the front as it needs to be, but it's long enough for me.

So I took some pics when I got back from getting it cut b/c it was fixed and I know it wont ever look this good again! But I'm learning.

I love the back!!

So you can see the sides.

When I was laying in bed this night, I started thinking- ya know, this hair style is kind of like a backwards mullet! I don't know why no one ever thought that and made fun of it!
Then the next morning I was skyping w/ my Mom and Dad and my Dad said, "I love your cut! It's like a backwards mullet!" Hahahahaha! We are so much a like! :)

It's funny to me how the place to go for a good cut is at the mall. Unfortunatly it took us about 2 years to find this little secret out! But so glad we did. Totally opposite from the states, but a good tip next time you are visiting ;)

FRESH BAGELS

So at Java Junkie, we are trying to have lots of yummy goodies for people. And one thing we've been wanting to offer is freshly baked bagels.
For the past 2 weeks, we've been purchasing our bagels from another shop that makes them fresh. But they cost 15 baht each. If we make them ourselves, its only 5 baht each!

So we had 2 friends come today and teach us how to make these amazing fresh bagels! Who knew how hard this process is?! Wow!

So they actually started last night and prepared some yeasty dough. Then today, the rest of the process took about 3 hours.
30 minutes of that was just kneading the dough!

But it was SO worth it!!!

These fresh bagels were so amazing!! I've never had a bagel fresh from the oven and man- is it different!! So crunchy on the outside but chewy in the middle!
Jen said we need to get a Hot & Now sign!
If you've never had fresh bagels just after they've been cooked, you are in for a treat!

I had the same experience the first time I followed a Hot & Now sign. It is night and day how different they are freshly cooked!

Here is Joy, Euw & Dee after the 3 hour cooking/rising/kneading process with their finished product.
